super bowl tide ad reviw


The tide ad first grabbed my interest because an actor from stranger things was in it. I ended up choosing it because I thought it was clever.
   
Message Communicated:
This ad is trying to make you think of tide during other ads in the superbowl.
It shows examples of different types of ads that might air during the superbowl ( beer, insurance, cars, alexa) and interupting them saying "no its a tide ad". it points aout thet all the clothes are clean in the ads which is what makes them a tide ad. it end by saying "so, does this mean every ad is a tide ad?" and then " If its clean, its tide". It is very up front about its message,  it makes clean clothes anywhere part of its brand.
   
Elements of Design
It had snappy editing and every ad clip captured the way those types of ads are very well.
  
each ad clip had different lighting and composition that matched the kind of ad they where parodying. the insurance ad bit had the sort of washed out colour that insurance ads tend to have and the soda parody ad was bright, full of 20 somethings like soda ads usuaklly do, it even had the bad dubbed over voice. they used white or light colored/solid colored shirts a lot because it is easy to see the lack of stains on those. in the final bit it switched to a regular tide ad with a happy family all waring clean shirts and a bucket of laundry with the tide detergent bottle in it.
 
Conclusion:
This tide commercial was very good at is job and communicating its message. It got your attention and kept it . each parodied ad clip captured the feeling of those ads with the editing lighting colour and composition. it used those to make you think of tide the next time you see an ad like the ones they demonstrated.
